Khanyi Mbau recently reflected on what she was doing when she was in Grade 9 – The actress remembered that she was drawing pictures of yellow Lamborghinis in maths class She’s come a long way and now owns many luxurious rides, including a yellow one.
All the talk about the Department of Basic Education working on introducing a general education certificate that will allow South African students to leave school as early as Grade 9 got South Africans worked up. Taking to social media – as Mzansi so often does when they want to discuss something – the hashtag #MinaInGrade9 was born.
Peeps remembered what they were doing in Grade 9 and it makes one wonder if kids at that age should really be allowed to leave school. According to Minister Angie Motshekga, this will open up other opportunities for students. Meanwhile, glamorous celeb Khanyi Mbau has looked on the brighter side of things. She shared what she was doing in Grade 9 – drawing pictures of fancy cars. Yellow fancy cars.

In other news – Dinky eliminated from the competition #IdolsSA
It was another sad moment on Idols SA when viewers had to bid farewell to Dinky Swartz on last night’s edition of the singing competition. Although many are shattered by her elimination from the competition, there’s still bouts of hope for Dinky’s future in the music industry and her legion of fans have pledged to go hard for her. Randall Abrahams is known for not taking too kindly to returnees on the Idols, however the relentless and talented Dinky had seemingly won him over from the audition phase through theatre week.
The year 2019 saw Dinky try another shot at hopefully clinching the title on Idols. The 22-year-old’s sheer talent and strength has definitely made an impression with the viewers and has undoubtedly gained herself quite a strong fan base. Read more
