Scramble for gold in Gweru suburb. There was a rush for the precious stone on Thursday morning in the suburb before police and military officers cordoned off the area. A Gweru resident who spoke to the Daily News said:
Hundreds of Gweru residents scrambled for gold in Adelaide suburb, a residential area located to close to the Midlands State University (MSU).

The Daily News says it was not able to verify if there was indeed gold deposits in the area. Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Gweru spokesperson, Joel Goko, could not comment on the development.
