Financial constraints force Young Warriors out of this year’s COSAFA tournament. Zimbabwe’s under 20 football team, Young Warriors, will not be part of this year’s COSAFA Tournament to be held in Zambia early next month, SportBrief can reveal.
The annual regional tournament will run from the 4th to 14 December in Zambia, Lusaka. Thirteen teams from the Southern African region are expected to tussle it out for 2019 title.
Sadly, Zimbabwe will not be part of this year’s competition due to financial constraints. ” Yes, we won’t participate due to budgetary constraints,” Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela confirmed.
The draw will take place on Friday. Meanwhile, their senior counterparts will face Botswana at the National Sports Stadium on Friday in 2021 AFCON qualifier match.
