Government, doctors to meet on 14 November. Doctors are demanding a pay rise from the current USD$100 that they are being paid by the government. Government is set to meet the striking doctors of the 14th of November to discuss how to resolve the impasse that has seen the doctors not attending work for more than months.

Speaking during the post-cabinet briefing on Tuesday Minister of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services Monica Mutsvangwa said, “Government is still committed to dialogue with striking doctors, and a meeting has been scheduled for 14 November 2019.”

Mutsvangwa further announced that a total of 322 disciplinary cases of striking doctors have so far been heard and 286 doctors who were found guilty have been discharged. A further 93 doctors from Central hospitals and 55 from Provincial hospitals will undergo disciplinary hearing on the 15th and 27th of November.

The Minister added that the government is committed to project health facilities in all hospitals.
