MDC defied police advice – Video. Acting Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister July Moyo says the opposition MDC Alliance party was advised to hold their political rally outside Harare’s Central Business District (CBD) area when they made an application to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) who have the mandate to maintain peace and security in the country.

According to the ZRP, the MDC agreed to withdraw their event but the party later breached the agreement when they proceeded with the rally in the heart of the CBD without notifying the police.
