Andy Muridzo rebels now ready. The 10-member group has named their album Hupenyu Hutsva and do hope to make a huge statement when they launch it next Tuesday at East Point.

Following their break away from Andy Muridzo, Afro-fusion ensemble The Bark Band say they are ready to conquer the music world with their debut album.

Speaking to H-Metro, one of the lead vocalists, Alois Mucheriwa said they have come up with an exciting project that will define their prowess. “It’s all systems go for the launch and we are excited to finally meet the demands of our fans by launching the first project that we hope will really do the trick for the band.

“As the title suggests, this is a new beginning for the band and we are definitely making the launch memorable as we seek to lay a solid foundation,” said Mucheriwa.

He said the band is finally coming off age with the launch also expected to give the group mileage. “The band is now taking another step forward by increasing more visibility and interaction with music fans.

“We are looking to ride on the new project and graduate from being mainly supporting acts to holding shows of our own,” he said. Songs to look forward to on the album include Jongwe, Huroyi, Ndega Ndega, Ndimirire, Chii Nhai, Nherera, Andina Kuromba, Bvuma, Shevedzera and Baba.

The group which has also been spending time doing charity is hoping to ride on the wave to impact on local children through art. “Away from the music the group has had missions in Norton, Chegutu, Epworth and Chinyaradzo Children’s Home in the capital.

“We are doing this to increase our visibility as a brand but in the same manner giving hope to the less privileged,” said Bark band benefactor, Billy Katiyo. Katiyo said the band has so far impacted on the lives of at least 200 by paying their school fees.
