Man murdered over thigh vendor after stonyeni starved Mashurugwi invade. The infamous gang mainly known as MaShurugwi are reported to have recently run-amok and fatally stabbed a local for allegedly flirting with a girl whose services had been hired for the night by the Mashurugwi. Zengeza 2 Shopping Centre in Chitungwiza which has gained notoriety for being the hotspot for s.e.x work is reported to be now infested with machete-wielding artisanal miners in search of a good time.

iHarare has sadly learnt through the local tabloid, H-Metro, that 26-year-old Jonathan Rukweza was brutally murdered at the hands of the gang. Mbuya Rukweza, the grandmother to the now deceased, confirmed and narrated the incident. Jonathan’s friends came around 4 am and banged my door to tell me that he had been stabbed.

I then rushed to the scene only to find him lying dead and I just fell on him crying because they had told me he had been injured. Kundideedzera munhu atove chando kare havo. According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity, Jonathan was murdered during a scuffle after one of the revellers was accused of flirting with a Mashurugwi woman.

Jonathan worked as a security guard at night and was just trying to break up a fight which involved one of his friends. They stabbed him thrice; on his back, chest and right shoulder when he tried to run for his life. One local who spoke to the publication lamented over the havoc that has rocked the suburb ever since the invasion by the Mashurugwi.

We are appealing to the police to conduct a search in people’s homes because some residents are giving them accommodation. Harare Province police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Webster Dzvova confirmed the incident.
