Chinese doctor who discovered Coronavirus has died. Li Wenliang, a doctor based in Wuhan-the central Chinese city at the epicenter of the deadly coronavirus- died from the virus on Thursday. iHarare has sadly learnt of the sad development from the Guardian.
The 34-year-old doctor was among the first medical doctors to sound the alarm on the new coronavirus before its widespread outbreak but was unfortunately silenced by law enforcement officers for “spreading rumours” about the epidemic.

Dr Li Wenliang, an ophthalmologist dropped the Coronavirus bombshell after seven patients from a local seafood market had been diagnosed with a SARS-like illness and quarantined in his hospital. However, he was detained by police for ‘rumour-mongering.’
He was hospitalized on Jan. 12 after he contracted the virus from his patient, and he was confirmed to have the coronavirus on Feb. 1. The virus has since claimed at least 563 lives and sickened more than 20,000 people globally.
