Baba Harare drops visuals for refreshing new song Samatenga. Popular musician Baba Harare, real name Braveman Chizvino Mwanza, has released the video for his new song “Samatenga”. The video which stars fellow musician Peter Moyo is refreshingly different from Baba Harare’s previous offerings.

Baba Harare shows that he is a talented and versatile artist with this latest song which seems to be an interesting amalgam of Jiti music and South Africa isicathamiya and mbube choral group singing which was popularised internationally by Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

For “Samatenga” Baba Harare ditched what was fast becoming his signature of playing around with mischievous lyrics which contain double entendres which seem s.e.xually suggestive.

Baba Harare is actually grounded and poignant as he sings about adulterous wives who knowingly make their husbands look after children who are not theirs. In the song, Baba Harare laments that when it comes to paternity, only the mother and the Almighty know the truth. Samatenga is a social commentary which may resonate with some males.

It speaks of the pain of having a wife/partner who has numerous lovers whom she uses to fulfil different needs in her life. He talks of the pain of bringing up a child, to only learn later that the child is not your progeny when the child is now an adult.
