Harare Mayor meets Prophet T Freddy over church demolition. The sigh of relief to GMM and its leader, Prophet Tapiwa Freddy came after a marathon meeting between the latter and City of Harare Mayor, Councillor Herbert Gomba at Town House yesterday.
Goodness and Mercy Ministries Church will be allocated a new church stands following the demolition of their illegal structure in Glen View last week. Mayor Gomba confirmed his meeting with Prophet Freddy describing it as a success and geared to help the community.
“We agreed to accommodate the prophet on a piece of land to be planned by our city planner,” said Mayor Gomba. “We have understood each other and agreed as Zimbabweans to work together for the benefit of all of our institutions,” he said.
Prophet Freddy, responding in a relieved mood, described his meeting with Mayor Gomba as divine and helpful. “I had a long meeting with His Worship Mayor Hebert Gomba but I am happy that we agreed on something that relieved my pain at least for now,” said Prophet Freddy.
“We will be working together and the responsible department will look for a better and legal place to accommodate our members. “It is my prayer that the divine meeting I held with Mayor will bring heal and comfort the bleeding church members following the uprooting of their shelter and place of worship. “I want to thank Mayor Gomba for giving me his ear at a time when I was bruised and demoralized and also thank Glen View people for comforting me.
“Kanaka iye Apostle Paul anoti mundinyengetererewo saka vatendi vanosanganisira vakuru vedzimwe kereke vakandifonera vachindisimbisa. “Prominent church leaders called me after they learnt of my misery. As for Glen View vulnerable people I will not stop assisting them as well as providing them with clean water,” said Prophet Freddy.
Meanwhile, Prophet Freddy scoffed at reports that he was involved in a road traffic accident saying it was one of his brothers not him.
“I was not involved in a road traffic accident but one of my brothers is the one and when I visited the scene of accident people who knows me are the ones who spotted me and some begged for prayers and I only pronounced a blessing upon them,” said Prophet Freddy.
“I took the opportunity to explain the importance of social distancing as a health precautionary measure set by Government to curb the spreading of Covid-19,” he said.
