Update: 3 test positive to COVID-19 after 841 people tested in Harare. The ministry provided no further details about the new cases, which are all from Harare. Three people tested positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday after a two-day lull in new cases, the ministry of health announced.
Zimbabwe now has 28 confirmed cases of the respiratory illness first detected in China late last year before it swept across the world, devastating communities and national economies.
Three people have died and two have recovered. The ministry of health said it had tested 841 people for the virus on Tuesday, bringing the tally of people tested so far to 4,159.
By 9AM Wednesday, 177,718 people had died worldwide from 2,560,063 infections. Some 696,230 people had recovered.
