Zim records 16 new COVID-19 cases

Zim records 16 new COVID-19 cases. Zimbabwe recorded 16 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday 3 June 2020 bringing the total number of known coronavirus cases in the country to 222.

The Ministry of Health reported that all the new cases are returnees from South Africa who have already been isolated. Most (11) of the total number of new cases were from Matebeleland South Province, Midlands and Masvingo had 2 each while Harare had 1.

This comes amid reports that some returnees are escaping from quarantine centres thereby increasing the chances of transmission and spread of the deadly virus.
