King 98 and Tamy Moyo part of Jah Prayzah’s online birthday gig. KING 98’s ‘bromance’ with Jah Prayzah will this Saturday come on the spotlight once again after the rapper was invited to be part of the trend-setting crooner’s online birthday gig line-up.
Dubbed Jah Prayzah & Friends Lockdown Birthday, the online gig will be screened on ZTV from 9-11pm.
Jah Prayzah will be turning 33 on Saturday. As such, Jah Prayzah has decided to celebrate his birthday with fellow artistes namely King 98, Ammara Brown and Tamy Moyo. In an interview with H-Metro, King 98’s manager DJ Simmz said they feel honoured to be invited for the celebrations.
“It’s yet another big platform we have been given by our big brother Jah Prayzah to share the stage with him on his birthday.
“Jah Prayzah and King 98 are good buddies and they have been working together on some projects and they always exchange notes. “So this invitation is a bit special to us because we will be connecting with the fans,” he said.
Asked what they have learnt from the hard-working Jah Prayzah who continues to break new records, Simmz said: “Hard work is one of the things that we have learnt so far and we hope to put that into practice as well.
“We have also learnt that there is a need to reach out to the international market by working with some of the continent’s finest artists. “To date, we have worked with Davido, Zlatan, Nasty C and we are also courting other international stars.
“By doing these collaborations, we are trying our best to make an international breakthrough.” With most artistes grounded on lockdown, DJ Simmz said King 98 has been busy in the studio and travelling a lot doing his charity work.
“We might be on lockdown but we are doing our best in the studio and I can assure our fans that there is work progress. “As we speak right now, we have since recorded a number of singles that we hope to release soon.
“We have also been working on visuals and we hope all the plans will go according to plan,” he said. DJ Simmz said he was also impressed by the strides King 98 has made in reaching out to the local fans.
“We are gradually winning the hearts of many people, especially Zim Hip Hop fans and very soon we are likely to hold an online gig if all go according to plan. “However, we are also learning from the best we have in Zimbabwe like Jah Prayzah,” he added.
Meanwhile, DJ Simmz said the King 98’s seven-day long promotion dubbed “Francesca Album Promotion” coined after his debut album named after his mother, which ends today has gone according to plans. In the promotion which began on Tuesday last week, fans stand a chance to win three grand prizes.
The first prize comprise $10000 in addition to meeting King 98’s executive team while the second slot comes with $5000 prize money with the third winner pocketing $3000. All the questions will be around King 98’s debut album Francesca, which was launched last year in the capital.
