Music promoter Charles Mukuze to buried today. Samukuze, as he was popularly known in music circles, died aged 53. Music fanatic, a cattle farmer and businessman, Charles Mukuze who died early this week will be buried today in Mutare.

His memorial service, which attracted top musicians and promoters, was held yesterday at Doves Funeral Parlour in the capital. Speaker after speaker described him as a caring family man and unifier who was gifted in bringing warring parties together.

Family spokesperson Farai Chisemwa hailed friends of the late music fanatic and benefactor for their love. “On behalf of the family, would like to thank the people who have been supportive to us ever since the death of my brother.

“Friends of Mukuze contributed over US$400 which came from the like of Mama Mahwindo, Chipaz, Sulu, Phiri, Peter Moyo and other. “We have also received 80kgs of sugar and other groceries to assist the family.

“Mukuze will be buried on Friday (today) around at Old Murapa near Manica Bridge off Nyanga Road,” he said.

Musenwa said the family was grateful for the support Mukuze received. “It shows that he was indeed a man of the people and we will be burying him tomorrow (today) where we hope to give him a befitting send-off,” he added.

Mukuze is survived by his wife Felistas and five children.
