Heartbreaking scene as a tobacco truck burns to the ground. Seventy bales of tobacco went up in flames this morning in Mazowe when a vehicle transporting them from Mount Darwin caught fire due to mechanical fault.
Witnesses told Bulawayo24.com that the truck had binding brakes which contributed to the accident. “This accident occurred around 3 am and it was due to binding brakes 70 bales of tobacco were lost,” said the source.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Douglas Karoro urged farmers to insure their crops. “We are urging farmers to insure their crops in order to overcome natural and man-made disasters,” Karoro said.
