USA-based duo Mukuruva and Jirira waiting for green light from the immigration department. United States-based stars Tatenda Mkuruva and Tendai Jirira are among the players doubtful for the crucial back-to-back Afcon qualifiers against Algeria on November 12 and 16.

Mkuruva, who plays Michigan Stars and Jirira of Detroit City are waiting to get a response from the immigration department to get the green light to travel.

H-Metro heard, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the US government is barring non-citizens to return if they leave. The duo has applied for an exemption with the help of their clubs and is waiting for the green light.

Warriors manager Wellington Mpandare on Monday confirmed Mkuruva and Jirira’s possible blow saying they are hoping to get good news.

“The players said they will know today (yesterday). I spoke to the players they said they will tell me and I’m waiting to hear from them as well,” he said.

If he gets the nod, Mkuruva will make a return into the Warriors setup after being on the sidelines for close to four years. Jirira will be making his debut appearance for Zimbabwe. Their teams participate in the National Independent Soccer Association, the third tier of American soccer.
