Warriors coach speaks on Algeria game. The goal completed the Warriors come back from two goals down in a pulsating 2-2 draw against Algeria’s Desert Foxes. Zimbabwe are now on five points and coach Loga says they wanted a win.
Prince Dube came off the bench to score a dramatic equalizer for the Warriors off his first touch. “It’s not easy to come back; especially when you’re two goals down against the Champions of Africa but we really expected to win,” he said. “The point is we really were trying to look for goals.
“The first goal was because of too much space but I’m sure going forward that Zimbabwe can score against any team in Africa. “And today they scored two goals against Algeria that means we can do it.”
Warriors are left with two games against Zambia and Botswana and Loga says they need to appreciate the draw for now. “Let us cool down a bit for now, we are excited and a bit tired but I think if we can produce this type of game against Botswana or Zambia we should reach the target,” he said.
Loga made four changes to the team that started in Algeria but a terrible start to the game saw his charges going down 2-0 in the first half.
He made five substitutions in the second half and the complexion of the game changed. “The point is we thought Zemura and Chicksen are a bit stronger and they can give us something. “I think David Moyo had a good job, second half I decided to make some changes.
“But when I was talking to my assistants they kept saying put Prince on and he came in and scored at the right time and the right place. “But I was debating between Prince and Terrence. It’s something that makes us happy and I think the result was fair,” he said.
