Relatives of a patient who vanished from Hospital and later found dead suspect foul play from hospital officials: Video. The relatives of the deceased patient have finally spoken and they suspect foul play.
Wendy Chinomungu of Rushinga was suffering from melancholia (severe depression) and disappeared from her ward on October 20 and was found at Concession, some 136km away, two days later unconscious and with her hands tied.
Some farmworkers in Concession found the woman lying unconscious three days after she left the hospital and told the farm owner who immediately reported the case to Glendale Police Station. Chinomungu was rushed to Concession Hospital and was immediately transferred to Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare where she later died.
A post-mortem report shows that death was due to “severe head trauma” and there are indications that she had been s.e.xually abused. Mt Darwin District Hospital senior nursing officer Forbes Makamba confirmed Chinomungu’s disappearance but said he was away when the incident took place.
