Beitbridge cross borders

Beitbridge Border crossers told to self-quarantine first. The Health Department in Limpopo is calling on all people coming into South Africa through the Beitbridge Border Post to self-quarantine before interacting with others upon arrival at their various destinations.

This after 104 people tested positive for covid-19 at the port of entry during the past four days. Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba says she is worried that the events at the border are fast becoming a super spreader, as thousands of people are stuck at the port for days while waiting for their entry into the country to be processed.

MEC Ramathuba says those who tested negative for covid-19 and have gained access into the country, must also self-isolate for 10 days because they have been exposed to a potential super spreader even if they do not show any symptoms now.
