State of The Nation Address Saturday 23 January 2021…
President Emmerson Mnangagwa addresses the nation amid the worsening Covid-19 pandemic in the country. Has said Government has and is engaging countries that have developed vaccines and says help and relief is on the way.
“Our experts who have been assessing different vaccines are very close to finalise the course to recommend to our nation,a course which will bring relief which we will roll out across the length and breadth of our nation so we do not lose more lives”
President says frontline staff are our heroes and heroines and they will be prioritised to receive the vaccine first so that they can be able to protect others.
President says the situation which confronts us can make one feel helpless but reminded Zimbabweans that we have been through worse challenges which the country confronted alone but has emerged victorious.
“Now is the time to strengthen that unity, determination and shared sense of purpose,” he said. President Mnangagwa urged every Zimbabwean to mask up, practice hygiene, stay home, social distancing, stop going to private parties, and report suspicious cases of returnees as we all fight the pandemic.
