Zambia beat Zimbabwe 2 – 0 in an AFOCN Qualifier match

Zambia beat Zimbabwe 2 – 0 in an AFCON Qualifier match. Zambia defeated a weak Zimbabwe 2 – 0 as they played fro pride after knowing that Zimbabwe and Algeria were already through to the AFCON Finals which will be played in Cameroun next year.

Warriors coach Zdravko Logarušić fielded a weak Zimbabwe side that only saw 2 of the most senior and regular first 11 players in the team, Ovidy Karuru and Alec Mudimu. Kuda Mahachi later came in deep in the last minutes of the game but it was too late for redemption.

Goals from Zambia’s main striker Patson Dhaka sealed a win for the Chipolopolo who were beaten 2 – 1 in the reverse fixture which saw Zimbabwe occupy the number 2 spot that made them qualify to the AFCON Finals.

It’s now over and done for the Warriors who now awaits Cameroun next year. They were beaten today but they already had the job done in Botswana where they defeated the Zebras 1 – 0 to book a place at the 2022 AFCON Finals.
