NRZ partners National Railway of Congo. A National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) delegation was in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where they sought an investment partnership with the National Railway Company of Congo.
The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) has partnered the National Railway Company of Congo (SNCC) to enhance the movement of freight on the north-south corridor.
NRZ Board Chairperson Advocate Martin Dinha said the trip culminated in discussions on cooperation agreements between the two entities that will remove bottlenecks on movement of freight on the North South railway corridor.
We were invited by the SNCC railway of Congo to discuss on how we can cooperate in improving the movement of freight particularly on the North South railway Corridor, highlighted Dinha.
The North-south railway corridor which is SADC’s main international rail gateway consists of a rail network that stretches over three thousand kilometres from Durban in South Africa, through Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Zambia up to the DRC.
NRZ has also signed a memorandum of understanding with a Turkish company Yappe Merkez as the parastatal intensifies its regional and international investment drive to improve its operations.
