Domestic Football: Chibuku Super Cup resumes today fixture


Domestic Football: Chibuku Super Cup resumes today fixture. Back then, some games were postponed as clubs concerned had been hit by the pandemic. The tournament resumes with mid-week clashes next Wednesday morning as Herentals clash with ZPC Kariba.

The Chibuku Super Cup resumes next week after it was suspended in July following a spike in COVID-19 cases, which forced the Sports and Recreation Commission to put the tournament on hold. See fixtures below:

Wednesday, September 29:

  • Herentals v ZPC Kariba 11 am,
  • Dynamos v Yadah 3 pm (National Sports Stadium),
  • Cranborne v Manica 11 am,
  • Black Rhinos v Tenax 3 pm (Sakubva),
  • Triangle v Ngezi 11 am,
  • FC Platinum v WhaWha 3 pm (Mandava),
  • Chicken Inn v Bulawayo City 1 pm (Barbourfields)

Thursday, September 30:

  • Harare City v Caps United 3 pm (National Sports Stadium),
  • Highlanders v Bulawayo Chiefs 3 pm (Barbourfields)

Dynamos lead group 1 with 14 points from six games, having won four of their matches and drawn two and look set for a quarter-final berth.

Competition is still open for Yadah (eight points), Caps United (seven), Harare City and ZPC Kariba on six points. Chicken Inn are Group 2 log leaders and are hoping to add their points to seven.

Highlanders have seven points.

In Group 3 new Premiership boys Cranborne Bullets lead with five points after three games, with Black Rhinos and Tenax tied on four points and Manica Diamonds on three points, rendering competition in the group open.

Ngezi Platinum Stars who were on fire before the tournament was halted lead Group 4 with nine points. FC Platinum are in second place with seven, while Triangle and WhaWha have a point each.
