Zimbabwe today relocated to Bafoussam, a city in western Cameroon, where they are set to play their two Group B matches of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Norman Mapeza’s men held their last training session in Yaounde today, where they will return for their last group stage match against Guinea on January 18.
Kuda Mahachi and Petros Mhari, who were injured in a friendly against Sudan on Sunday, sat out of yesterday’s training but returned to training today.
They are expected to be fit for Zimbabwe’s opening match. The team received a huge boost following the arrival of duo of Tino Kadewere and David Moyo. “Last workout in Yaounde done. David Moyo and Tino Kadewere trained with the team for the first time.
“Mhari and Mahachi sat out of the ball work drills as their rehabilitation continues. Tomorrow (today) we head out to Bafoussam,” posted Zifa on Twitter yesterday.
Captain Knowledge Musona was expected to arrive last night and join the team as they travel to Bafoussam. England-based forward, Admiral Muskwe, is expected to arrive in Cameroon tonight.
Meanwhile, defender Jordan Zemura, who was scheduled to join camp Monday night, is now doubtful after a Covid-19 outbreak at his English Championship side, Bournemouth.
