Hall of shame for Brendan Taylor continues. With just one announcement, Brendan Taylor fell from grace into the dustbin which contains a number of cricket captains whose names will forever be associated with match-fixing.
Taylor confirmed on Monday that he received US$15 000 from an Indian bookie to be part of a dark web to manipulate the results of cricket matches.
Even though he claims he never executed his shadowy role, his name is now being mentioned in the same group which has the likes of Hansie Cronje, Heath Streak, Mohammad Azharuddin and Salim Malik.
Yesterday, some reports in India claimed Taylor pocketed US$40 000 and he confirmed he failed a drugs test after his final ODI appearance for Zimbabwe in Ireland. Taylor, who checked into a drug rehabilitation centre yesterday, had retired from international cricket.
