Sandra Ndebele: I’m Zim’s version of Madonna. The Bulawayo-bred entertainer has vowed to invest a “fortune” in her looks and fitness, to try and keep young. Sandy, who turned 40 early this month, told H-Metro she was now more particular about her looks. Sandra “Sandy” Ndebele wants to be Zimbabwe’s version of American superstar Madonna.
“It feels really good turning 40. I’m in good health and in high spirits, but that does not mean a change in lifestyle, especially the things which can make me happy,” said the entertainer. “As they say, life begins at 40, and I will keep doing what my heart likes the most, to keep soaring.
“I would like to emulate Madonna, who is particular about her looks as she keeps looking young despite her age. “Of course, I am growing older with each passing year, but I can as well keep myself younger, just like Madonna.
“I would like to be remembered as Zimbabwe’s own version of Madonna, who has defied age by maintaining those perfect looks by investing a lot in fitness and good diet.” In her birthday message, the multi-tasking songbird revealed she was determined to live her life to the fullest,” she said.
“I’m done with baby-making, like I said in the previous interviews with your publication, and it’s now high time to fully concentrate on showbiz and other businesses. “At the moment, I have been dedicating much of my time to workouts to maintain the curvaceous looks, which I have been keeping, of late.
“As a celebrity, appearances do matter, as well as eating healthy, which has made some of international celebrities like Madonna maintain those looks that will always leave fans drooling each time they appear on stage.”
Sandy says she is now geared to keep her fans on their toes. “I have never stopped recording new music and we are busy recording new songs to remain relevant. “I have done a Nyaradzo Holdings project, with other artistes, but I am also busy with my solo projects to ensure we remain relevant.
“As I open a new chapter in my life, I can only promise my fans more music in the new year, to ensure we don’t starve the market.” She said she was in the studio working on a collaboration with Mai TT. “Mai TT is here in Bulawayo on business but we have decided to record a collaboration titled ‘Masibambaneni/Ngatibatanei,’ which appeals to Zimbabweans from across the divide.
“I have been working with her on a number of projects and now that she is in Bulawayo on business, I just grabbed the opportunity to come up with something for our loyal fans.”
