Man strangled at a funeral

A 62-year-old man died after being strangled at a funeral in Bikita, Masvingo for failing or neglecting to return the suspect’s burdizzo, a specialized clamp used for castration.

In a report posted by Pindula News, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has since arrested a man who strangled the deceased. Reads the statement:

Police in Bikita arrested Vetengeni Kwaramba (34) in connection with a case of Murder in which Webster Mhembere (62) died whilst admitted at Masvingo General Hospital after being pinned to the ground and strangled by Vetengeni Kwaramba. The incident took place during a funeral service at Romberai Village, Chief Mazungunye on 08/03/23. The victim had asked the suspect to return his burdizzo which he had taken.

Police always urge members of the public to resolve their disputes amicably to avoid unnecessary loss of life.
