Congratulations are in order for Eminem’s daughter Alaina Marie Scott! Scott, 30, tied the knot with her husband Matt Moeller in a ceremony that involved her sister Hailie Jade, who served as her maid of honor.
She documented her wedding day, June 9, on Instagram, calling it “simply one of the best days of my life.”
“in this lifetime and the next, my soul will always find yours,” she captioned a series of wedding photos.
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, adopted Scott in early 2000 after her mother Dawn struggled with drug use. Dawn, who is the sister of Eminem’s ex-wife Kim, died in 2016 from a suspected overdose. Eminem and Kim also share a daughter, 27-year-old Hailie Jade. Eminem is also the adoptive father of 21-year-old Stevie Laine Mathers.
“I have full custody of my niece,” the rapper told Rolling Stone of Alaina in 2004. “My niece has been a part of my life ever since she was born. I and Kim pretty much had her, she’d live with us wherever we were at.”
In a 2020 interview with People, Eminem said that Alaina, whom he often calls Lainey in his songs, is “like a daughter” to him. He appears to reference their relationship in his 2004 song “Mockingbird,” in which he raps: “Lainey, uncle’s crazy ain’t he? / Yeah, but he loves you, girl and you better know it / We’re all we got in this world.”
When Scott’s sister Hailie Jade became engaged in February, Scott posted a touching Instagram tribute describing their relationship.
“There are not many moments in life that leave you feeling pure bliss, but this has to be one of them,” Scott wrote. “To look at my younger sister and see her living her best life – one that some may think was always easy has me over the moon. She’s crushing her career right now, crushing being one of my Maids of Honors, crushing her podcast, and everything else that she touches. I have no doubt you’ll crush being a wife, too.”
