Zimbabweans mourn the death of Afropop musician Gary Mapanzure. The Zimbabwean music icon has sadly passed away this morning following his involvement in a car accident yesterday.
Mapanzure was reportedly involved in a fatal accident that killed two people. According to reports, Gary Mapanzure was in a critical condition.
The accident occurred in Masvingo on Thursday along the Beitbridge-Masvingo Highway when a vehicle turning into Clipsham Views residential area hit another coming from Beitbridge.
Mapanzure was in a vehicle and his sister was the driver. His nephew, his sister’s son, died in the fatal crash. Pictures from the scene of the accident show the wreckage of a maroon Toyota Vitz vehicle. It was damaged beyond repair while a grey car it collided with was at a distance on the tarred road. The damage on the vehicles showed they should have collided head-on.

Mr Teen Zimbabwe 2023 Abel Mugari has been dethroned amid allegations of defaulting on a bootcamp fee of US$30 and failure to attend the bootcamp among other reasons. Mugari was crowned Mr Teen Zimbabwe a fortnight ago at a pageant held in Bulawayo simultaneously with Mr Zimbabwe International.
Mr Teen Zimbabwe 2022, David Takavarasha has since replaced Mugari as the new Mr Teen Zimbabwe 2023. In a statement, Mr Teen Zimbabwe organiser Ishmael Murangandi said the decision to dethrone Mugari was made following a thorough investigation into his conduct, which was found to be unacceptable.
