The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has issued a warning to house musician Prince Kaybee, giving him ten working days to settle his outstanding tax debt or face the potential seizure of his assets.
Prince Kaybee, known for hits like “Gugulethu,” allegedly owes more than R2 million in unpaid taxes to SARS, prompting the tax authority to initiate legal action against him.
According to reports, Prince Kaybee must either pay the full amount within the specified timeframe or arrange to pay in installments. Failure to comply could result in the sheriff of court seizing his property, as stated in the demand letter received by the musician.
The letter also outlines options available to Prince Kaybee should he require assistance in meeting his obligations. Natural persons like him can apply for a reduction in payment based on their basic living expenses, while non-natural persons can seek relief due to serious financial hardship.
Last year, Prince Kaybee attracted attention when he showcased a fleet of trucks as part of his expanding business ventures, which include a reported involvement in the wine industry with a brand currently available in South African stores.
