Scottland FC president Scott Sakupwanya rewards fan with US$1,000 for correct match prediction

Pedzisai ‘Scott’ Sakupwanya, the president and founder of Castle Lager Premier Soccer League newcomers Scottland Football Club, has made headlines by rewarding a passionate football fan with US$1,000 for accurately predicting his team’s victory over CAPS United. The generous act took place after Scottland FC secured a 2-0 win over CAPS United at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday, March 9.

The lucky recipient of this reward, Sir Dhedwa, is a well-known football enthusiast from Mbare. His unwavering belief in Scottland FC was proven right when the team triumphed with goals from Tymon Machope and Sadney Urikhob in the second half. As a result, Scottland FC remains unbeaten in the league, making them the only team to have won their first two matches this season.

Dhedwa, an ardent Cristiano Ronaldo fan, recently expressed his allegiance to Scottland FC in a rather amusing way. Prior to the match, he boldly held up a placard with an unusual pledge, promising to eat sadza with Surf washing powder as relish if CAPS United managed to defeat Scottland FC. The placard humorously read: “Scottland ikadyiwa neCAPS United ndinodya sadza ne Surf washing powder.”

His confidence in the team did not waver, and he was duly rewarded for his correct prediction. Interestingly, Dhedwa’s accurate forecasting extends beyond this game, as reports suggest he also correctly predicted Scottland FC’s 1-0 win over Triangle United in their opening fixture. Additionally, he foresaw the defeat of Harare giants CAPS United (Makepekepe), predicting that they would lose 2-0 to Mabvirabvira.
