Blow for Durban Gen viewers as the show goes on a break

While viewers were still enjoying newly added cast member Zenande Mfenyana, Durban Gen went on a break.

Zenande (37) plays the role of jailed Nontsikelelo, who is a convicted killer. Nontsikelelo befriended nurse Sne, played by Nombulelo Mhlongo, while she was in jail for killing her abusive husband, Dr Dhlomo (Nyaniso Dzedze).

They promised to take care of each other and never commit crime again. But Nontsikelelo seems to be finding it difficult to stay away from breaking the law.

Durban Gen is going on holiday from Friday, 16 December, and will be back on air on 9 January.

According to e.tv’s Thapelo Ramatsui, Durban Gen will be replaced by reality show, Men Don’t Cry.

Presented by Sam Shale, this show gives a platform to men to seek help on problems they are facing.

“Season 2 of Durban Gen will take a short break and come back in January,” confirmed e.tv.

SABC also revealed that season 3 of The Estate was taking a break from 26 December, and would come back on air on 13 January.

This show will be replaced by a series titled 13 Weeks to Find Mr Right. Cast members include Mohau Cele, who plays the role of Olwethu, Kea Zawadi, who plays Nkuli, and Bonko Khoza, who plays Zakhele.
