DJ Zinhle called out for sitting on the first row at AKA’s memorial

Mzansi’s multi-award-winning DJ Zinhle has had a heavy week following the death of his baby daddy Kiernan Jarryd Forbes better known as AKA.

Although Zinhle and AKA are no longer together, their co-parenting relationship left many in awe and Zinhle also had a tight-knit relationship with AKA’s mom, Lynn Forbes.

Zinhle attended AKA’s memorial service on Friday afternoon and sat in the front seat, next to her child Kairo Forbes. In spite of the fact that she sat there to support her child emotionally and physically over the loss of her father, trolls dragged her.

A Twitter user accused Zinhle of acting like AKA’s first lady, and the comment rubbed many people the wrong way who defended Zinhle.

“Now that are emotions are down, Can we discuss why Zinhle was behaving like she was AKA’s, first lady. Zinhle was supposed to sit in the second row at memorial service,” wrote Lerato Modise.”

Another Twitter user wrote “In my culture,Kairo would have been accompanied to bury his dad by other family members not Zinhle. It will never make sense that a wife to someone is crying because an ex has died. Imagine me and my mother attending a funeral of my ex yet I’m married to someone else.”

DJ Zinhle’s fans have defended her by questioning who was supposed to sit with Kairo.

LeratoMannya wrote “I really don’t understand why DJ Zinhle has been getting the amount of flack she has been getting for just… being there to support her child through the loss of her father. Why do you guys use cultural practices to be such POS? Why are your egos so fragile?

Lerato_seko wrote “So do you mean Kairo should have sat alone in the front and when she needs her mum go to the back?? These people have a civilized relationship get in the program please.”
