Pictures: Inside Connie Ferguson’s getaway in Bali

South African actress and entrepreneur Connie Ferguson is on an “eat, pray and love” type of trip in Bali and it’s giving peace-filled solocation.

The actress has been sharing some moments from the trip on her social media pages, and as opposed the usually extravagant and luxurious vacations Mzansi celebs usually take, Connie seems to have taken a different approach.

The actress shared snaps engaging in the usual touristy actions in Bali such as the swings and the views. However, she’s alluded to also using the time to conquer fears.

“I conquered one of my biggest fears! Stepping out of my comfort zone, small action by small action. God is good.”

In one of her posts, the widow expressed how much she misses late husband Shona Ferguson, especially as the pair used to do everything together.

“My skat, life is just different without you dawg. I miss you so much! Go ikamogela seemo (To accept the situation) does not make it any easier.

“I’ll never stop missing you. I love you always and forever.❤️ Hope you’re resting well, my king,” she wrote.

Shona died in July 2021 from complications related to Covid-19, and Connie has been left to pick up the pieces.

In a recent sit-down with Newzroom Afrika, Connie recalled Shona’s battle with Covid-19 and how she nursed him and monitored his oxygen after he was discharged to recover at home.

The hospital visits that followed saw a recovering Connie, who had also been diagnosed with Covid-19, emotional, sleep deprived and abstaining from food.

“I think I’m still traumatised from that night after he was discharged from hospital. Because he was strong he put on a front that he was strong enough to come home. That was the longest night of my life. Because I literally had to monitor his oxygen. That night he just got progressively worse. That night I was looking at my husband fading away from me,” she said.

The actress and Ferguson Films co-owner, who returned to work six weeks after Shona’s passing, said she is still on course to fulfil her promise to keep his legacy alive and has ambitions of her own despite feeling lonely at times.
