Finally telling my truth’: Caster Semenya to release memoir

After years of shunning the spotlight, South African runner Caster Semenya is set to tell all of her experience as an intersex woman and how it affected her professional career.

The Olympic gold medallist – whose body produces a naturally higher amount of testosterone – has undergone sex verification testing and taking hormonal medication. In an Instagram post, Caster Semenya shared a look at the cover her book titled The Race To Be Myself. The memoir is set for release on 31 October 2023.

She shared: “It is my hope that by finally telling my truth, I will inspire others to be bold, unafraid, and most importantly, to love and accept themselves as they are.

“This is my offering from me to you.
