Kevin Costner’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, is seeking an exorbitant amount of money in child support. The designer, 49, wants the “Yellowstone” star, 68, to pay her $248,000 a month to help raise their three children: Cayden Wyatt, 16, Hayes Logan, 14, and Grace Avery, 13, according to court documents obtained by People Wednesday.
Baumgartner reportedly claims the total requested is “less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle.”
She also wants Costner to fully pay for their kids’ private-school tuition, extracurricular activities, sports, and health care expenses, per the report. As a result of Baumgartner’s filing on Friday, her estranged husband’s recent income records were released.
According to People, Costner made more than $19 million in 2022 and his family’s expenses, which consisted of caterers and chefs for entertaining and trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Aspen, cost $6,645,285. His net income was reportedly $7,595,520 after taxes.
The “Field of Dreams” star previously argued in court documents obtained by Page Six that he did not want his financial information to be made public out of fear that “irreparable harm” will be done to him by fraudsters, burglars, and “unwanted and embarrassing global media attention.”
Costner’s attorney did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on Baumgartner’s child support request. The “Bodyguard” star has been in a legal battle with his estranged wife ever since she filed for divorce in May after 18 years of marriage.
Costner has accused Baumgartner of spending $95,000 of his money “without prior notice” to him on lawyers and a forensic accountant amid the proceedings.
He also reportedly called out the mother of three for refusing to move out of their shared $145 million home in Carpinteria, Calif., despite the pair having a prenuptial agreement.
The contract notes Baumgartner would have 30 days to vacate to premises and that a $1.2 million property would be given to her to live elsewhere following the split.
However, the handbag designer has reportedly argued that Costner has “no legal basis” to kick her out and leveraged the kids noting via her attorney that the mansion is where “the children have lived in for their entire lives.”
The one point where the exes appear to have found neutral ground is child custody, which Baumgartner has requested as “joint.” She is also not seeking spousal support.
