Murdah Bongz goes to Durban July 2023 without DJ Zinhle

South Africa star Murdah Bongz, former Black Motion group member was one of the many Mzansi celebrities at this year’s Hollywood Bets Durban July which was held on Saturday, 1 July, at the Greyville Racecourse.

Taking to his Instagram on Sunday, Morda shared snaps of his outfit, as well as images of himself behind the decks.

However, the DJ flew down to Durban without his wife, Zinhle, after she cancelled all her gigs in the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) city following AKA’s untimely death.

The Company hitmaker, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, was gunned down in the same city in February this year. Zinhle and AKA share a seven-year-old daughter, Kairo Forbes, while she shares two-year-old Asante with her Morda.

Ahead of the sports and fashion extravaganza, Zinhle was billed to perform at DJ Tira’s “Fact Durban Rocks” event, however, she said that she was not ready to be in Durban just yet.

According to TimesLIVE, she said: “I cannot lie to you guys, I’m not ready for Durban. Emotionally, I’m not ready at all. I get a little anxious thinking about being in Durban.

“It’s going to be a while before I can be in Durban. I’m going through the most. Forget about seeing me in Durban. It’s not even that I am mad at Durban.

“It’s just hard. It’s only been three months since Kiernan died, so maybe with time. But I’m hoping I never change my mind.”

DJ Tira replaced Zinhle with DJ and presenter Lerato Kganyago, saying he fully supports the Umlilo hitmaker’s decision.
