Gogo Maweni reveals she and her husband are expecting twins

Lee-Anne “Gogo Maweni” Mokopo has spoken openly about using IVF to conceive children with her husband, Sabelo Magube. According to Mayo Clinic, in vitro fertilization (IVF) is a complex series of procedures used to help with fertility or prevent genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child.

Gogo Maweni already has three children — her firstborn son from her previous relationship with an unidentified American man, her second son with actor Sthembiso Khoza and another with former soccer star Siyabonga Zulu. The popular sangoma revealed she and her husband were now expecting during a sit-down with DJ Sbu on The Hustlers Corner.

“Soon we’re going to add two more babies on the list. We’re having twins. This was supposed to be a secret until the bump comes out,” she said.

“We work so hard, and the reason we work so hard is to be able to afford certain things. There’s IVF. You go and they take out your egg for the first month, then they take out your egg the second month, then they put it back. I went to a gynecologist and asked to be referred for IVF and we’re here now.”

Being in the limelight, Gogo Maweni’s relationship with her husband has faced public scrutiny and sparked rumours that their marriage is on the rocks. Celebrating their anniversary in early April at Zuma Restaurant, Gogo Maweni reflected on their relationship and their commitment to make it work.

“Everybody said it would end in tears … The tears have been there but the end is never coming. I don’t care what social media says,” she wrote.

Gogo Maweni said she and her husband were in a good space now.
