Kidnap fears for Katy Perry’s songwriter who vanished from Beverly Hills

A model and songwriter who penned tunes for Katy Perry has not been seen for more than seven weeks sparking fears among friends she has been kidnapped. Camela Leireth-Segura was last seen in June and was having trouble with her landlord when she apparently vanished from her Beverly Hills home.

Leierth-Segura, 48, was last seen in the middle of the night on June 30 near Robbins Drive in Beverly Hills, California after being evicted from her home.

Her beloved 19-year-old cat Morris has also vanished and no-one has heard from her since.

Pals of the songstress, who co-wrote ‘Walk On Air’ with Katy Perry in 2013, say the disappearance is completely out of character and she would have contacted one of them to ask for help. This has led some to fear she has fallen victim to kidnappers.

Friend and fellow model Cecilia Foss told the Independent: “My worst fear is that someone has her, and is hurting her.

“If she was going for a drive to clear her head, I get it. But it’s been seven weeks. And no one has heard from her. Nobody goes for a seven-week drive.”

Despite disappearing on June 30, police were not told she was missing until early August when friends and family got in touch.

Officers then went to her home to do a welfare check but when they arrived the landlord told them she had been evicted and there was no sign of her or Morris anywhere.

It was at this point police opened a missing persons report. Friends of the model say she is not the sort to live out of her car and would have contacted one of them to ask for help for a period of time.

She had previously been telling pals of her struggles, saying that money and work had been tough during the Covid pandemic.

Posting to Instagram, friend Liz Montgomery said: “We are desperately seeking information on the whereabouts of our dear friend, and sister, Camela Leierth, who may also be using the name Camela Leierth Segura.”

She added: “We are extremely worried about her safety, and despite our best efforts, the local authorities have not been able to locate her.

“If you have any information, even the smallest detail can help, please reach out immediately. You can email any tips or information to: findcamela@gmail.com or the police or message me.

“Alternatively, please call your local police department with any leads or information. She means the world to us and time is of the essence. Her family in Sweden is pleading for your assistance.

“PLEASE spread the word, SHARE this post, and help us bring Camela home safely. Thank you for your support and assistance in this critical matter.”
