Mondli Makhoba speaks on his marriage with Australian ex-wife

South African actor Mondli Makhoba, who is famously known for his roles in Generations: The Legacy and The Wife recently revealed his Australian ex-wife cheated on him. A local publication reports that the Shaka Ilembe actor Mondli Makhoba was married to an Australian woman when he was 22 years and the pair have two children together.

Makhoba opened up about his failed marriage on Dr Fundile Nyati’s Health Matters Podcast titled The Celebration of Women by Men episode.

“I was once married because I like family, many see [this] with the work that I do. I wanted a family and have kids in wedlock.”

“I was married to an Australian woman and we have two kids today, but it did not work because of many things, but mostly our cultural differences.”

The acclaimed actor adds that his marriage also ended because the woman cheated on him and at some point he ended up sharing coffee with the man his wife was sleeping with.

Makhoba also reveals said he was in a relationship with a woman who said he was not man enough, because of the things he could not do for her at the time.

“I am a man who cries, so when she told me how not a man I was, I went to see her in Shangai. I went to her so we can fix our relationship. I was supposed to stay there for two weeks but the trip was cut to four days.”

The star adds that he cried on his flight back to South Africa, which helped him heal through it all.

The Wife actor made headlines in July when celebrity blogger Musa Khawula shared an image of him and his alleged girlfriend Nokuphila Sibiya.

The controversial entertainment blogger captioned the post: “Meet Mondli Makhoba’s girlfriend, Nokuphila Sibiya.” in a since deleted post.

Fans of Makhoba were surprised to discover the seasoned actor was in a relationship, while others commented on how beautiful the two looked together.
