Family of the late DJ Sumbody has secured ownership of the Ayepyep Lifestyle

The family of the late DJ Sumbody, real name Oupa John Sefoka has secured ownership of the Ayepyep Lifestyle in Cape Town. Since the death of the musician in 2022, the family has suffered death threats, and legal fights from men who were in business with the late star. The DJ’s business partner, Kagiso Setsetse reportedly kicked the family out of business.

“Setsetse is not what he portrays himself to be, and he’s got his reasons for leaving South Africa. I don’t know what’s going on in the business. I have faced a barrage of intimidation and harassment from him. His lawyers sent me letters telling me to stay away from the business, and I did that,” the DJ’s brother revealed.

28 gang leader Ralph Stanfield also threatened the business till it shutdown. However, Phil Mphela revealed on Monday that the family now has 50% ownership of the business.

“Sefoka family retains ownership of Ayepyep Lifestyle Capetown In a legal settlement, the luxury entertainment establishment was returned to the family of the late DJ Sumbody (Oupa John Sefoka). The Sefoka family has now secured a 50% ownership stake in the business. Ayepyep Lifestyle Cape Town is set to reopen its doors on Friday 22 September 2023,” Phil tweeted.
