Katy Perry breaks silence after ex-husband Russell Brand accused of s.e.x assaults

Katy Perry has posted on social media for the first time since her ex-husband Russell Brand was accused of rape and sexual assault.

The Firework singer, 38, posted on Instagram showing off her latest collection – completely ignoring the claims made against the comedian, which he vehemently denies. The 48-year-old star is currently at the center of an investigation by The Times, The Sunday Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches over allegations of rape, sexual assault, and emotionally abusive behavior. The hour-and-a-half documentary is based on Russell’s alleged treatment of women between the years of 2006 and 2013.

Katy, who is now in a long-term relationship with Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom, 46, is yet to discuss the allegations and instead took to the platform to share her latest product with her 205million followers. The upload showed the cowboy boots up close in several colors, including blue, black, and pink.

Another image showed the songstress posing in a metallic blue pair while perched on a scooter. She gazed at the camera in the shot while showing off her toned torso in a blue and clear catsuit and black fur coat. Alongside the upload, she wrote: “scootin n bootin. @katyperrycollections.”

Russell and Katy first met in 2008 at the VMAs. While their connection was seemingly instant, they didn’t begin dating until September the following year. Just a few months later, the pair were engaged and went on to tie the know in a lavish ceremony in India in October 2010. The nuptials featured an array of animals, including camels, elephants, and horses. There was also a string of celebs in attendance, such as P Diddy, David Walliams, and Jonathan Ross.

However, just over a year later, their marriage was over for good, with Russell sending his bride a divorce text message on New Year’s Eve – reportedly moments before she went on stage.

The moment Katy discovered the news was caught on camera and played a part in her documentary titled Katy Perry: Part of Me in 2012. The singer is seen in the shot breaking down in tears while ready dressed for a performance.

It was reported the couple had tried to save their marriage before its breakdown, with the pair said to have undergone marriage therapy. However, comedian David Baddiel previously explained that the cracks in the relationship were present long before they wedded.

“I was there,” he said. “Russell did tell me that they had a big row the night before they got married. I did think when he said that, of asking, ‘Are you sure?’ but I didn’t say that. Perhaps I should have done.” Although they frequently turned up to red-carpet events together and were thought of as a power couple at the start of their relationship, it’s reported Katy’s successes took their toll on Russell.

Years after their divorce, Russell said on TikTok: “I tried in that relationship. I have nothing but positive feelings for her.”

Katy, meanwhile, has since reflected that she “felt a lot of responsibility for it [the marriage] ending” in the beginning. She went on to say: “But then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day. I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me. So I have moved on from that.”

Bijou Phillips, 43, filed to end her 12-year marriage to Danny Masterson, 47, less than two weeks after he was sentenced to 30 years in prison on two counts of rape. The proud mother-of-one reportedly filed the divorce documents on Sept. 18, as reported by TMZ.

Bijou’s lawyer, Peter A. Lauzon, released the following statement to the tabloid one day later. “Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time. Her priority remains with her daughter,” the statement began. “This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family. Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during the most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter.” Read More
