Cher and boyfriend Alexander Edwards dismiss split rumors

Cher, 77, and boyfriend Alexander Edwards, 37, dismissed rumours they had split with a loved-up date night in Paris.

The Believe hitmaker has been dating the music executive, who is 40 years her junior, since November last year, but it was reported back in May that they had parted ways. In true iconic style, Cher put those rumours to bed by stepping out with her toyboy beau to celebrate the end of Paris Fashion Week, and the duo looked smitten as they departed the exclusive Hotel Costes in the French capital for a romantic date.

Cher looked stunning in a black jacket embroidered with a military-style silver design, teamed with chic black leather trousers, sparkly boots and her blonde hair in loose waves around her shoulders. Alexander, who previously dated model Amber Rose, rocked a faux snakeskin jacket and baggy trousers as he held hands with the pop icon while they left the hotel in front of waiting paparazzi.

The couple began dating in November last year, after initially meeting at Paris Fashion Week, and they were spotted holding hands and looking cosy while enjoying a date at celebrity haunt Craigs in Hollywood.

It was reported earlier this year that Alexander, who works as a music executive at Universal Music Group, had popped the question, but it was confirmed he had simply given her an “engagement style ring” instead. Cher fuelled the rumours by posting a picture of the diamond ring on Twitter over the festive season last year, but eagle-eyed fans spotted she was not wearing it on her ring finger.

The Turn Back Time hitmaker even poked fun at the age gap between her and Alexander when she was asked what she liked about him by a fan on social media. “He’s kind, smart, hilarious… & we kiss like teenagers,” she cheekily replied, before adding that “love knows no math”. During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in December last year, Cher spoke about the age difference once again, and said the relationship was going great. “On paper, it’s kind of ridiculous. But in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous. And I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve,” she quipped.

The award-winning singer is even planning on working with Alexander on new music, and in March, she revealed she was heading to the UK to record long-awaited new material. “I’m going to England to make two albums. Some of the songs Alexander gave me, so I’m pretty excited about that. He’s a producer and a writer and he does everything, so I’m happy about that,” she told E! News at the time.

Prior to dating Cher, Alexander was in a relationship with Amber Rose, and the couple share a three-year-old son, Slash Electric Alexander Edwards. They split in 2021 after he admitted to cheating on the model multiple times, and when fans expressed concern over Cher’s new romance with the alleged womaniser, she fired back: “I’m in love, not blinded by it.”
