Audrina Patridge’s 15-year-old niece dies from drug overdose

Audrina Patridge’s niece Sadie died from a drug overdose nine months ago, leading to the police opening an investigation. Mirror.com reports that the 15-year-old allegedly bought the prescription opioid Percocet off of Snapchat. The drug was laced with fentanyl, leading to her death and many deaths across the United States. Audrina announced her niece’s death on Valentine’s Day of this year with an Instagram post. The Hills star captioned the post with emojis of a white heart, sparkles, and praying hands.

The caption read: “My heart hurts to even write this. My beautiful niece is now in heaven. I know Its not goodbye forever, but it is the hardest to say goodbye for now. We will miss you and cherish every single moment we had with you. Rest in peace Say Say!! We love you forever & ever!”

Audrina added photos of her niece from throughout the years in the loving Instagram tribute, including a photo of the two dancing at The Hills star’s wedding.

Audrina hasn’t said anything about her niece’s cause of death, and comments are turned off on her original post from February. Sadie’s family did create a GoFundMe in her honour, with donations going to the Sadie Raine Foundation.

“Sadie was a beautiful dreamer, and together we will change the world for our youth,” the description on the donation site read. Since the page was established in February, over $3,000 (about £2,450) has been raised.

Fentanyl overdoses have strongly affected Hollywood along with the rest of America. Mac Miller died in 2018 from a fentanyl overdose. The rapper’s dealer was sentenced to 17 and a half years in prison in May of last year. If Sadie’s dealer is found, they could face similar jail time.

Euphoria actor Angus Cloud died earlier this year from a combination of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and more. He was found in his family’s home in Oakland, California and was only 25 years old.

Audrina, 38, rose to fame in 2006 as she was cast in the reality television show The Hills. The show followed Audrina and fellow friends like Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad. Later that year she appeared on the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing With The Stars. She and her partner, Tony Dovolani, came in seventh place.
