Actor Lemogang Tsipa on his acting career

South African actor, Lemogang Tsipa said all the TV roles he has played are special to him.

The 32-year-old who played the lead role on Mzansi Magic’s popular telenovela, Shaka Ilembe, said his love of acting came from being a TV addict as a kid.

Speaking to the publication about his career, he shared that he’ll be on the upcoming Mzansi Magic dark comedy, Killer Front Page.

Lemogang said it’s a great privilege and honour to lead any show.

“This one is another highlight for the books and my career because it’s another piece of groundbreaking work, exploring dark comedy,” he said.

The actor said he was always drawn to acting as a kid.

“Since I was a kid, I loved TV and was a massive TV addict. It was only in high school when I discovered the possibility of following it up as a career move,” he said.

Lemogang said the character of Sol, who is a journalist on the Killer Front Page series, taught him something.

“The one thing that I took away is focusing on your dreams and positively trying to get ahold of them by any means necessary. Sol explores them in a much darker sense, which I don’t intend to use in my life,” he said.

Being in the industry for over two decades, his biggest highlight is starring on Shaka Ilembe.

“It was the biggest moment for South African film and television.

“Playing the king that founded the Zulu nation was a special moment for me. Not only to be involved in a groundbreaking piece of television that’s pushing the envelope across the continent, but also to represent a hero from where I was born and raised,” he said.

He urged Mzansi to tune in to Killer Front Page as it’s a refreshing piece of television in a new genre.
