Fans of Orlando Pirates are not happy with their star player Thembinkosi Lorch’s departure and they are blaming his girlfriend, Natasha Thahane, for it.
In a statement on Friday, 26 January, (just hours before the transfer window closed) Pirates confirmed that Lorch is leaving. Nyoso, as he is affectionately known, has joined Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Thembinkosi Lorch is to leave Orlando Pirates … after a discussion between the chairman Dr Irvin Khoza and the Mamelodi Sundowns hierarchy,” read the statement on the Pirates website.
“The club thanks ‘Nyoso’ for his immense contribution by adding another page in the history of the club. We wish him and his family well in his future sporting pursuit.”
On Saturday morning, Masandawana officially announced Lorch as their new signing.

However, Orlando Pirates fans are not happy with the midfielder’s exit. Some fans have even found an old video of Natasha in a Mamelodi Sundowns kit, subsequently blaming her for influencing the footballer.
Lorch and the Blood and Water actress have been in a romantic relationship for almost three years. Together they have a son who was born in 2022.
“The signs were there… I blame her for forcing Lorch’s departure,” one fan said.
“I’ll never forgive Natasha for what she’s doing to Lorch,” another supporter said.
“She’s to blame😭😭 it’s true when they say men have power but women got influence,” said another fan.
