Hlelo and Ntando discuss their venture into podcasting

Former radio personalities Hlelo and Ntando Masina have ventured into the podcast arena after a decade away from the spotlight. The twins, renowned for their Double Up show on YFM, left fans and the entertainment industry curious about their whereabouts. They are siblings to Metro FM’s Naked DJ, Quinton Masina, and Fortune Masina. In an exclusive with TshisaLIVE this week, the duo revealed their journey during their absence.

“We didn’t take a break from the industry; instead, we focused on what mattered most to us,” explained Ntando. “It wasn’t a step back but a forward move through a life purge. I delve into this on our podcast’s first episode. It was challenging initially, but these past years have been about finding peace, authenticity, and joy.”

Hlelo shared, “Life has been fulfilling, especially spending time with family. A pivotal moment came when I deepened my faith a few years ago.” Their podcast, “Gifted with Hlelo and Ntando,” launched six months ago, releasing monthly episodes. “The name ‘Gifted’ reflects God’s calling to use our talents again. It celebrates family, faith, and the uniqueness of people’s gifts,” Hlelo added.

Ntando noted their broader involvement beyond broadcasting: “We’ve been active in our community and launched Behold Luxury, a gifting business. We’ve also supported Fortune and his wife’s company, Wife & Hubby Creative.”

Regarding a return to mainstream TV or radio, the twins observed, “Online platforms are the new mainstream. If the perfect opportunity aligns with God’s plan for us, we’re open. We follow where God leads.”

Reflecting on their journey, the Benoni-born sisters expressed gratitude to their supporters. “We’re where we belong, embracing a new chapter with faith,” they concluded, acknowledging the support of their loyal fans in this new phase of their lives.
