Gypsy Rose Blanchard pregnant for ex-fiancé Ken Urker

Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared joyous news with her followers, revealing her pregnancy through a heartfelt video on her YouTube Channel released on Tuesday, July 9. This will mark the first child for both Gypsy and her partner Ken Urker. At 32 years old, Gypsy expressed her unexpected excitement, stating, “Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025. This was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected, but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood.”

Gypsy, who rose to public attention through the docuseries “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup,” had previously been in a tumultuous relationship with Ryan Anderson, which was documented in the series. After a split, she rekindled her relationship with Ken in April of this year, following her release from prison in December 2023. Reflecting on her relationship with Ken, she told People in May, “I would say that Ken is my first love because that’s when I honestly felt like a mature love. It wasn’t based off of a fantasy. It was actually based on a connection that two people have for each other.”

The announcement of Gypsy’s pregnancy comes shortly after speculation among fans that she might be expecting, sparked by a photo Ryan shared on Instagram where he had his arm around her stomach. In a subsequent video, Gypsy addressed potential criticism about her readiness for motherhood, acknowledging, “I know that there are going to be people who feel like I’m not ready to be a mother…and I don’t know if anyone’s really ready to be a mother.”

Gypsy, who has been candid about her aspirations for motherhood, previously expressed her desire for children in a December 2023 interview with People before her release from prison, saying, “It’s hard because I’m going into a new life and I’m newly married, and I’m going to have kids one day.” She also reflected on the challenges ahead, particularly regarding her past and her mother’s absence in her children’s lives, emphasizing her determination to provide the love and stability she missed out on.

Gypsy’s journey has been marked by intense public scrutiny following the tragic events that led to her imprisonment in 2015. She was sentenced to 10 years after her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn killed her mother, Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, who had been responsible for Gypsy’s care. Godejohn received a life sentence for his role in the crime.

As Gypsy prepares to embark on this new chapter of motherhood, she remains focused on creating a positive environment for her child, striving to be the nurturing figure she longed for in her own upbringing.
