Businessman Lekau Sehoana has stated in response to recent reports claiming that he and his family are now homeless. The Drip CEO took to social media to clarify the situation and refute allegations about his financial status and living arrangements. In his statement, Sehoana explained that the house in Waterfall Estate, which has been a focal point of the media coverage, was rented specifically for his son. He noted that the property was sub-let without his consent by his soon-to-be ex-wife. As a result, Sehoana decided to evict the unauthorized occupants to retain control over the house.
“The reports about me being broke and homeless are not true,” Sehoana wrote. “I have noted media outlets running with the story that I, my soon-to-be ex-wife, and my son were evicted from a property in Waterfall. The story is factually incorrect and is intended to divert the public’s attention from DRIP’s five-year celebration.”
Sehoana elaborated on his ongoing personal and legal issues. He stated that he has not lived with his soon-to-be ex-wife since 2021 and has been denied access to his son. He explained that the property was intended to provide a stable home for his son amid the divorce proceedings.
He further revealed that the landlord had previously informed him of a police request to access the property as part of an investigation into the murder of DRIP’s former Managing Director, Ms. Glenda Ndlanzi. Upon the police’s arrival, they discovered that the property had been sub-let to strangers without either Sehoana’s or the landlord’s permission, which he described as a breach of the lease agreement.
“It is for the above-stated reason that I decided to cancel the lease agreement,” Sehoana explained. He also mentioned that despite his efforts to expedite the divorce process, the legal proceedings have been challenging. His legal representatives have advised him against making further comments on the divorce or related matters. Sehoana’s statement seeks to address and correct the misinformation circulating about his situation, reaffirming his commitment to addressing both his personal and professional challenges with transparency.
