Silent Killer faces criticism for missing Ngezi performance

Silent Killer, the well-known Zimdancehall artist, has recently come under fire for failing to perform at a scheduled show in Ngezi, raising concerns about his professionalism and reliability. The controversy centers around Silent Killer’s no-show at Ngezi Platinum on Saturday, where he was set to perform. According to the promoter from Vista Entertainment, Silent Killer was reportedly too intoxicated to perform.

The promoter shared WhatsApp messages with a local publication, describing the artist as unkempt and appearing as though he had walked from Harare to Ngezi, with dust on his feet. The promoter’s message stated:

“Hello. He failed to perform coz anenge anga akadhakwa bigtym. Coz shenha yaanga ayinayo ma1 munhu wachio takatoshaya kt aburuka mumota kana kt awuya netsoka.” Translation: “He failed to perform because he was extremely drunk. The state he was in was so bad that it looked like he had walked from the car or arrived on foot.”

The promoter added that they had left Silent Killer at a lodge, but his manager, who had also left, returned to Harare without explaining. The promoter noted: “Ndakamusiya kuLodge manager wake akatiza naye.” Translation: “I left him at the lodge, but his manager ran away with him.”

This incident is not an isolated one for Silent Killer. Earlier this month, the artist faced legal trouble for similar issues. Silent Killer was arrested for fraud after failing to perform at the Mambodo Birthday Bash on June 22, 2024. Seh Wish Entertainment, the event promoter, had paid him a $250 advance against a total fee of $500. However, Silent Killer neither showed up for the event nor promoted it on his social media as agreed. The promoter attempted to get a refund for the advance payment but was met with a rude response from the artist, leading to his arrest.

These repeated allegations have significantly impacted Silent Killer’s reputation within the music industry. For fans and industry insiders alike, these issues raise serious questions about his reliability as a performer. The ongoing controversies underscore the importance of professionalism and communication in maintaining a successful career in the entertainment industry. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Silent Killer will address these allegations and whether he will take steps to repair his tarnished image. For now, both fans and promoters are left waiting for a resolution to these troubling incidents.
